Just sent one of our workers to the hospital in an ambulance.  We think he may have had a seizure.  He for sure lost consciousness and had a bad fall.  He re-gain consciousness when the fire department came, but he had no clue where he was, what was going on, or able to speak.  If you think of him, he would appreciate your prayers.  So would I.  Still shaking.

****

His wife just called.  He is awake, alert and wants to know what happened.  He can't remember anything after his 8:00 break.  They did a bunch of tests and can't explain the seizure and are going to release him in an hour or so.

Sorry for this happening to your co-worker and hope he will be okay. As far as whether it might be a seizure, I think those who were observing him could tell whether it was one or not. They are distinctly different from someone just passing out as in fainting and falling.

The paramedics acted like he was in a post seizure state.  One of them said, "the lights are on, but no one is home."  He had no idea where or what was going on and was not speaking, but they didn't act like it was a stroke, which is what our other idea was.   His blood sugar was fine.

That's scary! I hope they find the (curable) cause for whatever happened to him.

I know.  I would want them to check me out longer

No doubt!  I can't imagine wanting to take DH home if they hadn't figured it out yet. Scary all around.

Oh my goodness  - that's horrible!  I hope that all will be ok with him.  And I'm sorry that you had to experience that.
