Here's my Thanksliving layout:
Casey: I have just starting getting into clustering...I have always been somewhat nervous about doing this is because i never liked what i did and always thought it looked bad. But i have learned to play around with things and never glue until you are happy! LOL Thank you so much for your wonderful lessons again Erika!! It is amazing all that i have already learned! Especially with this months about layering and clustering! Here is what i did: I worked in layers from the very bottom up! I Misted my cardstock with some subtle shimmer, and then began layering up papers in different patterns, lengths and shapes. Then i layered my photos onto another piece of pp and began building my cluster at the corner. I was actually really happy with how this came out!! And my husband told me it was my best layout yet and that it was his favorite which of course made my day!! Sorry for the odd tilt to it. Apparently my camera was at an angle...oops!

Really like your cluster, especially the fanfold medallion!!
Here's mine.... thanks for this great challenge. It has really helped me remember the little things in life are really the best!
OK we are almost ready for a NEW challenge but this month I have seen some of the most beautiful layouts with the Thanks Living posts. I am once again blown away at how beautiful your work is! Stunning work -- I would like to get started with the rest of the work you have uploaded.
Derv-a big ole' WOWZERS I love this layout completely and wholly! I mean really it is just exquisite. I love the cluster at the top of the layout-that circle banner and the little touch of chevron peeking out from under the zig-zag element. You also have the visual hierarchy working so beautifully. The use of the red-popping that title so wonderfully. I love it. I also really like the journaling (it made me giggle). I have a question, what is the foundation paper? I love the visual interest is fabulous. I am so printing this layout for the inspiration book. One thing I said when I read your opening, I never thought about it, but I know a gluten-free life can be so difficult. What a great observation and a great reason to be thankful.
LCJinRoslynPA-OH I love the use of the arrows on this layout.. sooooo cute. THOSE photos are completely and totally adorable, they are sooo cute! Those faces are so cute. Your button/flower cluster is too cute and I love how you used the strip of paper under the photo to ground not only the cluster and the photo as well. OH the cute scallop where you wrote your journaling is so perfect. I like how you inked your edges on your layers it brings a nice finished look to the layout.
ScrappingEweRobyn-Your clusters are fabulous! I love how you have the textures both tactile and visual - the use of the bakers twine is a nice visual line of interest. I love the balance on this layout too. You have great photo placement. I love the leaves and the hand stitching you added to the leaves is such a nice touch... did you die cut the different textures? I LOVE the use of the color in your journaling helping to bring that visual hierarchy into play nicely. I L-O-V-E the amber gems they are a stunning touch. I love the blocking look! I also am looking at your photos and reading the journaling and I am pretty sure that I need to come visit you to the maple season J my hubby says it's the best thing ever! Have I mentioned that I admire how much your family plays and works together, it is inspiring.
Ashley H-OH this is a beautiful idea. I love that you also took the name of a song paired it with gorgeous photos and you completely expressed the "feel" of the beauty found in this layout. I LOVE the soft pink and the white butterflies, it was a wonderful idea to use the pink against the white. The stitching is perfect-I love the torn out section that is giving such an elegant feel to the layout. The little pop of green in the title is gorgeous. The buttons the scallop edged grounding the photo fabulous! You also have great visual interest in all the details-so many little things that make this layout so stunning.. the mist, the pen line cloud, the pearls. Just awesome!
Jordan-Well you achieved exactly what you described. I really like how you used the yellow to keep the hierarchy in place. Yellow is such a great color to use with red keeping both colors in check. I love the die cut layer you made (live, laugh, love). I like the idea of using the ribbon in the center to help create a center and to use it to make a grid that is very symmetrical. I love the pattern paper too... did you add the journaling in the pockets? The use of the journal spot in the title is brilliant! I love the letter stickers as well! I really do love your layout.
Aheatfan-I am soooo happy you are in this challenge! I saw your previous post that said this is a challenge you wanted to do because it was something you wanted to work to improve. WELL I like your clustering on this layout. IN fact I think it is amazing! You used several things that I love, I know those butterflies they have great texture and adding the brads to the flowers they are very nice addition. Your title is a perfect color, it pulls the cluster and the photos and ties them together. I like the mix of stripes and polka-dots and the checker patterns on this layout. OH and you made a fun whimsy line for your butterfly so cute! I really like the yellow and blue colors they bring great energy. Oh and journaling on the checkered paper was a great idea use of the lines!
Lorri-I love your Thanks Living statement(s) this month! I know it is hard when you see your little girls growing into young women. Hard, but exciting as well. I like the thinner matte on this layout and using yellow with this layout is perfect. I love that you used a little bling in your flowers, they are cute as can be. You mentioned that you were wanting to do more with the mattes of your photos, well here is a little tip for mattes: if you want to draw attention to your photo, and the photo is small make a larger matte. On a layout with many photos, consider not matting ALL the photo but only the focal photos. Use a double matte to identify THE photo you want to draw the most attention. I hope that helps-OH and if you are in doubt on what color to pick/ or want to settle a busy photo down, use a neutral paper with no pattern to make it pop.
FamilyScrapper-WOW! the color you have on this layout is AMAZING! I love that you mixed the black and white and the color photos. OHH and you are using the Club CK calendar download.. brilliant. I really like those calendars. The heart cluster at the top with the butterfly tells a great story. A I love spring story OH and the Thanks Living download are on there too. OH I love it! I love the great textures and layers. The photos are so beautifully blended and I love how you kept the ones in "green" in color. Such a great idea! OH and the highlights in the journaling are great pops of pink that tie in the other colors you chose for this layout.
Yokaye-I adore the foundation paper texture. LOVE IT! Your cluster in the lower right side of the photo block is gorgeous. I love the little lace hearts. The line(brown ribbon) you have placed it perfectly. I love the little touches of with the flower clusters. You mentioned that the brown came from a hair scrunchie, that is a great use of everyday stuff in your scrapbooking, I like that kind of thinking. I actually wrote the idea down. I mean what a great idea, hair bands +scrapbooking embellishments! I really like the 7gypsies(?) photo anchor the arrow-super cute! This is a very elegant layout and it is beautiful. Oh and I agree, the brown and red are fabulous together!
Corlann-First, CONGRATS on giving the G45 team call a shot, you really are very talented with their products. I really love this layout, and I LOVE that you got so many of your "class" photos on the page. I wish I had mine! I love the way you kept a unity with the photo mattes. It is very clever use of "filmstrip" feel. I like that you also have the fun clusters. The title is really really nice, OHHH I like the ruler that you have used on the right side. The layering is just beautiful. Your use of ink is just wonderful. Have you thought of submitting to the readers gallery call? May be you should.
Moongirl (Laura/Derv/Amanda)-I don' t know what is going on, but your post has Okanogangirl name, Devr photo and your signature... sooo Lucky I know that kid is yours.. I love this layout because your clustering has nice colors and textures. I like how you played with color on this layout, the pinks and blue and the lovely pops of black and gray-I ADORE the butterflies on the right side of the photos. I also love the pink brads that you wrapped the blue bakers twine around. I really like the way you did the your title. The "thankful" and "this" being opposites (blue with white and white with blue) is really clever play of color. The photos are beautiful.
Casey-WOW! I love when hubby's recognize the beauty of their wife's hard work. YOU did a fabulous job-your building "up" is the perfect execution of good layers. I really like how you have that cute little strips of paper grounding the photos-the clustering off the photos is beautiful! I love that the scroll is "growing" up the side-This layout is remarkable. I love that you have that little spot on the top left where the journaling is-soooo cute. Your stitching around the pattern paper and the banner falling down and to the side of the photo is a great use of repetition. Your hubby and you are both right, this layout is gorgeous. OH I think you also should submit this layout... I think it is totally publishable! The angle is fine!
Gayle-Well I understand being blessed by a small group. I love how you used the scenery approach to this layout. The branch is so cute. The photo placement is fabulous, using the horizontal photos on one page and vertical photos on the right is wonderful balance. Your clustering of the journaling and flowers with tags are very well done. I like all the tags on your layout (this layout would work well for the last ISSUE challenge(#4) we had - you can still post it on there for a chance to win the prize at the end of the round.) I love the colors especially how the yellow is bringing such a great feeling of friendship to this layout.
SandyP-YOU HAVE BEAUTIFUL HANDWRITING!!!! This is a fun layout. The title is wonderful, I love how the "friend" is all topsy-turvey and whimsy. This is a beautiful example of a whimsy layout, it has such fun lines and pops of color. The paper layers are perfect and the inking is blending it all together so well. I really like your reputation of the dashed lines. OH your idea to use the same color brown in the matte and the title great way to pull both of these things onto the same level in the visual hierarchy.. brilliant layout and your thanks living statement, inspired me to just hang out with a friend today, and get caught up!

I know I am not the only one that has been blessed by this ongoing project. Even though I may not write in my journal every night, I do write a few times a week and can remember the things I am thankful for. More importantly, I am noticing more and more things to be thankful for. (((hugs))) to you for that!
Erika, thank you again for the thoughtful comments! I did a double-take though, because I didn't remember putting on an anchor...and then realized that in the picture I took, the bottom photo really does look like paper added, and not a photo! LOL Someone on the groom's side is scrappy - and instead of placecards, they had quote cards everywhere...and this was one of my favorites. I was very impressed by the scrappy goodness they had everywhere! Here's a closer look, the quote is from The Hobbit, JRR Tolkien....

Erika..............thanks for the constructive comments. I also am enjoying your challenges and how they stretch my creativity! I do try to highlight my everyday thankfullness so I can recreate one that stands out into a LO. The leaves are punched out with EK (big leaves) and a small palm punch. I used different types of paper .............then hand stitched around them. You and DH are welcome here anytime!

Erika... You're the best! Your comments put a smile on my face each and every time!
I was just wondering if a winner was ever selected for this? Everyone did such beautiful work!!
I think this page is a little bare to tell you the truth.. But here was my thinking on it..
The only recent pictures I had of all the kids together were from my Step Daughters graduation from
flight school with Delta Airlines. I used the colors from the Delta logo (red white and blue) and the border
I wanted to resemble the Delta logo so I made it cut out triangles. I used blue glitter zig zag and blue linen
frames to pull in the blue. I decorated the 2 frames with travel stuff.. suitcases, air planes, etc. The compass
is used simply because if you picked all my kids up and dropped them in a room they would each go in a
different direction.. I call them north south east and west (family joke).. lol
Here is a closeup so you can see the clusters
