I was feeling a bit overwhelmed and stressed out so, I thought I needed a crafty break.  I thought I'd do your fun challenge Frances and it was just what I needed.

I utilized the butterfly and embossed music square from a mini card I received from Yolanda.

Here's mine:  http://clubcreatingkeepsakes.com/media/p/979420.aspx

Laurie:

Because my life is so hectic right now, but I did want to participate - I did a simple version.  I had received this pretty card a while ago from Skeeter (Bev).  I cut off the front, added some machine stitching, some ink, a flower and a gem.  The flower and the bling come from either tosses, swaps or a RAK from peeps.  It was fun to re-purpose this beautiful card and I am sure who ever  I send it to will be happy with it!!

Laurie... what an adorable card.  You did a fabulous job!

Hi Sandy - What a positive way to express difficult feelings by utilizing that energy and creating something beautiful!  And you did just that.  Your card seems to have such deep meaning with all of its layers.  You have created a unique flair to it - from the lovely background paper (did you create this?) to the top embellishment of deep blue and black roses.  Yolanda's piece repeats the lightness on top and your sentiment and coupons suggest good wishes for someone special.  Love your interpretation of the challenge. Thanks so much for taking the time to play!  Hopefully your stress level has gone down too!  We are so fortunate to be able to express our creativity in cards.

And I agree with you too about Laurie's card - it is so sweet.  It is amazing what can happen when you combine two people's ideas to see what can be created together!

Thank you Frances and Laurie for your kind comments.

Frances:  The background paper is a premade piece of patterened paper...I've had this scrap in my stash for a long time, but I love the soft look!

Probyte - Thanks for the "before" and "after" shots.  You dressed up the card to the point of it being the present!  Sometimes a card is the best present to receive - especially in thanks!  It tells someone you appreciate them, and your card says so much more.  Love your idea of the dynamic blue bow and the darker blue back ground to recreate a new card with so much visual impact.  Your colour choice really makes the white and polka dots stand out.  Thanks for playing along this week.  Glad you enjoyed it.

I used a card I got from Gena last year.

Here is Gena's card.

I added glossy accents to the tag.

Mandi - Love the energy of your card as the twine spans out from the tag.  Changing the tag up and adding the stapled ribbon puts your mark on it (I've seen you use staples on your LOs).  Love the glossy bits too.  Changing the shape of the card is a great way of making it a different design!  Also like the ink splatters that suggest more energy and movement.  How did you glue down the twine?

I used a liquid glue. I drew the lines with the glue and let it set for five minutes before placing the twine into it.

Did you use a regular "tacky" craft glue?  Thanks for taking the time to create with the challenge this week Mandi.  Always enjoy your approach to creativity.

Probyte...Love your take on the challenge.  There are always cards I receive that I love, I keep the fronts and then they sit.  This is the perfect solution.  Thanks for sharing your card with us!!
