I live in the "big" city now, but I grew up a "small town girl"!
Unfortunately, I don't have any photos from around my hometown, so I used pics of me when I lived there.
Here's mine of my "old hometown" of Buffalo, NY.

I didn't get a chance to create a new LO, but have been looking through my Gallery for something that represents the fun on Lake Erie. Erie, PA has Presque Isle beaches which are very nice, but this LO represents the annual 'Tall Ships Erie' event...lots of history on the shores of Lake Erie!

I hope my LO is not tooooo late..............finished it last night but had no time today to post. The Lo is my take on Ashley's August Sketch Challenge.
I decided to do a LO on horse pulling. It is real big in our town. Many people own draft horses that they pull with. They will spend thousands of dollars to buy a good team of horses.

Awesome layout! I especially love the map with the arrow pointing to the house pic - great idea! It looks like a beautiful place to be!
Gayle: We live in the greater Grand Rapids Michigan area. We don't actually live in Grand Rapids but need to go there for our shopping and entertainment for the most part. It's a great city with lots to offer. They began a two week long art festival a few years ago that is already drawing artist and art lovers from all over the nation and even the world. Here is my layout trying to capture some of the art from this great festival in a our great city:

Gayle - What a cool festival to be able to go to! That looks like alot of fun! I love how the black background really showcases those awesome art photos!!!
Laurie: Nicole - mine is a bit different. It looks like a wedding LO and it is. My friend's DD was married last weekend and all of "us" were there to celebrate. The journaling will be on the back, but it's not finished yet. It's about a group of people who all live in the same small New England town, most of us met at school functions because all our kids are pretty much the same ages, and over the years we have become so much more than friends - we are family. We have laughed and cried together, and I couldn't image life without them all.

This is a beautiful page! I love the soft neutrals you used and your misting is fabulous!! I love that your page features those important relationships you and your friends from the same town have! :)
SandyP: Here's mine... I did the layout, but still need to get the photo printed.

I love the blues and browns you used on this page! That leafy vine embellie with flower and butterfly is beautiful! I also love the heartfelt journaling on your page - I've lived in a few houses that never truly felt "home-y" to me. It's more than just the actual house itself that makes a place a home :)

I love your journaling and the black and white photos are fabulous! I'm from a more rural area and I loved growing up in that small town atmosphere! The way you have your photos and things hanging from the twine "clotheslines" is such a neat idea!

Those buildings are really neat looking, I love seeing different kinds of architecture and building designs! I really like the colors you used and the red birds are a nice touch to the page!

Thanks for sharing your layout, Merry! Those tall ships are so cool! Some tall ships came to Duluth a few years ago, and it was amazing to watch those ships sail around! They're such an interesting part of history, and so cool to be able to see them on the Great Lakes, not just the ocean!

I absolutely love your color scheme on this layout! The title is so descriptive too, it really fits the photos perfectly - I can feel the intensity of those races just by looking at your page! Those photos are awesome, too - the horses look so strong and powerful!
Thanks NIcole for posting, hosting and all your wonderful comments! Congrats Rachel!!!
Thank you NicoleA!!
