When I escape for a bit of scrapbooking time, for me there's nothing more relaxing than coloring! I'm sure you'll agree there are great new coloring products that are extra fun to use on layouts. Here is an idea using colorful spray ink and paints on your scrapbook pages.

Color Using a Combination of Spray Ink & Paint

You at 3 by Heidi Sonboul. Supplies: Cardstock: Bazzill Basics Paper; Patterned paper: American Crafts, Cosmo Cricket, and October Afternoon; Spray ink: Tattered Angels.

To create a painted sky background, follow these steps:

1. Cut multiple sizes of a single image. Place on patterned paper as masks.

2. Paint over the masks.

3. Spritz on spray ink for shine. Remove masks.

Color Using a Watercolor-Resist Technique

Supplies: Cardstock: Die Cuts with a View; Patterned paper: American Crafts and Cosmo Cricket; Letter stickers: American Crafts and My Mind's Eye; Chipboard: Crate Paper; Stamps: Autumn Leaves; Ink: Clearsnap and Tsukineko; Embossing powder and pen: American Crafts; Die-cutting machine and cartridge: Making Memories; Punch: Fiskars Americas; Adhesive: Tombow; Other: Fabric, pin, staples, and watercolor paints.

To create a soft, colorful background, follow these steps:

1. Repeatedly stamp and heat-emboss an image. Note: For heat-embossing instructions, read here.

2. Paint over embossed images, using multiple colors of watercolor paints.

3. Wipe paint from embossed images.
