So let me think 'outloud' and listen with words to your suggestions:

- the multi square background die cut, with photos as the squares, spaced 1/4 apart - 16 square. Loved this look with photos from a water camera in Hawaii.

- Photos cut with diecut machine as the alphabet headline. Positioning the palmtree as the "I" in Hawaii was alittle challenging. And I definitely had to restrain using photos instead of paper in the headlines. The page really pops and definitely gives me more space for photos.

- Two inch squares of photos as the border. framing the page. This one started out pretty good at the design stage but can't quite seem to find the right photos that blend into the background and form a good border.

When I look at older pages using only two photos, I can't help but wonder where the rest of those pictures got off to. I really enjoy seeing other scrappers using multiple photos.

Thanks now for your inputs.

Shutterfly and creating cards

I'm loving the photo cards available on Shutterfly. Waited for a sale and just got $10 off so I could order a card with three pic collage of photos I have taken here in Illinois. I made it easy by placing my card project in the shopping cart so it was fast to apply this new sale. It's the first time I really played with the cardmaking feature on Shutterfly. And the collage cards get to be alot of fun. Wish I could order just one card at a time but their sales are worth the wait. Too bad I have already bought Christmas cards for this year - next year definitely, right? (And exactly how many "next years" can I get away with?

And clouds, plants, random hills all end up pulled from the mount and thrown away. So far, I've up to about 50 mounts.

Paint, chalk, paper, fiber, embossed, metallic covers??????

I already know I'll use just a few as borders for letters - probably in the Disney album. I can see some enlarged "faces" would look great in the opening. Making mini-albums would be cute, made those once for a retreat with my quilting bee.

Time to start surfing the web - I know have the feeling I will run out of slides before I run out of ideas. And since I would like to get them transferred to DVD's, guess I'll have a few next year as well.....

Scavenging old albums

Is it considered "stealing" to make use of an unused, new album my college daughter had. It's more than 4 yrs old, never used. I've changed the cover inset photo and added pages. By the time she's home at Christmas, I'm hoping she won't recognize it. Next I have my sights on an album with her high school logo in the inset window, which she never even touched. It's bright red so I'm thinking it would be a great Christmas album, combining years of photos.

Now that I got this Trips and Travels album going, I'm in the mood to
scavenge photos. With dozens of old, plastic sleeve albums full of
photos we never see, I think it's time to promote those old vacation
photos. I've already decided this coming Tuesday I will be at Archivers
to make some 1/2 price copies of photos. I absolutely hate the idea of
adding duplicate photos to the family. I'm thinking a 5x7 collage of
multiple photos per trip - 30 yrs worth will take how long? This way I
won't have to actually copy each photo, then crop.

I'd love to hear what everyone ele has done with old photos and old albums.
