Independence
The Declaration of Independence is the sole reason we as a nation celebrate the 4th of July. The signing of the Declaration moved us from the 13 colonies, to the 13 United States. Our separation from Great Britain and King George the 3rd’s rule changed the course of American history forever. Freedom is not something for which to be taken lightly. It is something that men across the span of hundreds of years fought and died for, and still do so to this day. We as American’s have a moral obligation to remember that our freedom is not free and that our liberties came with great sacrifice by our fore fathers. 236 years have passed since the Declaration of Independence was signed and presented before Congress, and for me, and my family, I am most certainly proud to be an American live in one nation under God.
