One-Hour Challenge: Playing with Pink

Hello, Pink Ladies (and gents)!

Today we're channeling our inner Grease for a little Club fun! My challenge is inspired by one of the features found in our Jan/Feb 2012 issue of Creating Keepsakes -"Pink: It's Not Just for Little Girls." In that feature, we shared ways to use this, my favorite color, in so many ways that reach beyond little girl layouts. And today I have one more. It's an excellent color to use for Valentine's Day decor!

Your Challenge

Use a few pink supplies from your stash to create a little Valentine's Day happiness in your home. You can create a banner, a layout, a card, or whatever else strikes your fancy.

Here's how my banner came together:

1. Free-hand cut several hearts from pink and red paper (Doodlebug Design)

2. Stitch them together using a sewing machine

3. Added a little crepe paper (Melissa Frances) and embellishments (The Paper Company) for texture

4. Attach the hearts to baker's twine (Doodlebug Design) using bitty clothespins (Pebbles Inc.) for a quick and cute banner

What will you do? A banner like mine? Something else entirely? I can't wait to see.

Happy crafting, my pink-lovin' pals!

-Megan Hoeppner, creative editor

You have two ways to win!

If you'd like to participate in the live challenge, you have one hour to create a project. At the end of that time, photograph or scan your project and upload the image to the Club CK gallery (learn how to upload your project here). My page is posted here: http://clubcreatingkeepsakes.com/media/p/31086.aspx."

If you weren't able to complete your project during the live challenge, or you'd like to spend more time working on it, you have until 9:00 a.m. MST Monday, February 13, 2012 to complete the "long challenge".  Follow the above instructions for posting your project and commenting. Love your banner, Megan. I've been wanting to decorate my mantel for Valentines Day. This will give me the push I need. I had planned to participate live, but I'll have to do it later this evening. This will be fun!

ok, didn't have time to sew, but I made this card and have "My love for you is boundless" inside. I think I may add some more hearts if I can find a bit smaller one among my dies.

Was going to make a mini banner, but they were so cute--I popped them on a card.

Be still, my pink heart! I LOVE seeing all of your projects and ideas. Thanks for playing along. It's nice to know there are fellow Geeks in the Pink (referencing a Jason Mraz song) out there. This has been fun, and it's all because you joined me for the challenge. Thanks!

Welcome Meghan! Awesome challenge ! Your banners are to die for and thanks for the inspiration!

I love everyones ideas with this one, thinking outside of the box, which is what I did literally!

I covered some different sized gift boxes especially for this challenge to give to my teenage daughter for valentines day! I was inspired by the different ideas everyone else had done! here is my link....
