One-hour challenge: Scrapbooking from the Inside Out

Here's the second in a series of monthly scrapbooking challenges to encourage you to think about you - your thoughts, goals and dreams, your inner struggles, challenges and triumphs. Our kits at Scrapbooking from the Inside Out are the perfect match for these challenges, but you don't need a kit to play along. Just grab some of your stash and jump right in!

For your challenge, feel free to use any part of the following challenge prompt that touches you - but we want you to add what we call the 'design twist' - using a visual representation to reinforce the challenge.

Do you need to have specific things in common with your friends to make your relationship work? Do the things you don't have in common help you grow and learn about yourself? Does the way you communicate under conflict make a difference? How do you agree to disagree when you can? Do you really make peace in those moments or just put them aside?

Friendships are fragile things, and require as much handling as any other fragile and precious thing. The best relationships--friendship and otherwise--tend to be those where you *can* say anything to the other person but you don't say *everything*.

--Audrey Beth Stein

True Blue by Nancy Doren.

Here's an example from our DT member Nancy Doren  with some amazing visual symbolism about her relationship with her husband, all from the kit - the zipper trim shows the two of them joined together, and the repeating image denotes consistency and the commonality they share.

For the design twist, please use a repetitive image for a commonality or a mirror image for conflict. Or some of both! If you need more inspiration for this challenge, visit our FREE Inspiration Page with deep journaling prompts, a music playlist, quotes, and photos that relate to the challenge.

And do come join us online...we would love to welcome you and join you on your journey. Please join me again soon for more giveaways on The CK Blog and more challenges on Club CK. Come on by and Explore Your Inner World!

A quick question. you want us to make a layout about some relationship in our lives, and apply the design twist to that? Sorry if this seems silly.

I believe that is what is wanted, Smitha.

This does look hard to do, at least in the 1 hour challenge time frame! I will have to see if I can squeeze it in later....

oh so you have to have a repetative image or mirror image... hmmm... not sure if i have multiple of the same picture on hand like that.

This was a really hard one!  It took me a good 15 minutes to locate a photo of my dear friend!  Our friendship grew from a shared love for creating art.

I did think it was hard. Normally, this type of deeper LO would involve me taking more time to prepare photos. I only had one of my husband ready to go. So I used symbolism in the items I used...like plaid paper and kraft for a warm homey feel. I also used the trees to emphasize the quote. So if anyone is struggling, maybe go that route.

Definitely would have loved to do this challenge but i also don't keep multiples of the same photos on hand and no photo printer here...so guess I'll have to settle for the "longer" version of the challenge and submit mine later! Nice work to those of you who got this one done!!

I loved all your LOs! Thanks for playing along, gals! Excited to see even more interpretations on the long challenge! xoxo

It made more sense to use individual photos vs multiples of one for my page. It better explains how we are together. Thanks for looking! :)

Here's mine! The photo is a few years old, but it shows her personality so well, I had to go ahead and use it for this.

Waving.  Just a small plea.  Could ya pretty please put the day/date on the challenge too?  It hit my RSS reader a 3:00 a.m. Friday morning and it took me a long while to figure out it was yesterday's challenge.  Of course, I'm sleepy but it would still be helpful!

My entry may seem kind of creepy, but you did challenge us to scrapbook from the inside out...

Here is mine...I duplicated the photos and noted our names on the current photo as well as the childhood photo.  It was fun to see that comparison.
