Create a Spring Scene

One reason we love spring so much is the view that embraces us as soon as we step outside. And now that the season has officially begun, why not put some of what you see onto your scrapbook pages? Kim Watson illustrated that spring feeling on her layout by including a warm fuzzy (literally!) sun and a flying kite. The cute trees and bird remind us of how spring sounds, a perfect complement to the photos of Kim's family enjoying a nice day outdoors.

A Day in Spring by Kim Watson, as seen in Scrapbooking Tips & Tricks: Texture, p. 35.

On her layout, Kathie Link takes us out into a lovely garden. The fussy-cut pots, vintage fence, flowers, and butterflies frame the photos as if the embellishments are just an extension of the yard in the pictures.

Digging Fun by Kathie Link, as seen in Scrapbooking Tips & Tricks: Texture, p. 88.

And check out this layout by club member bfran55. Her die-cut elements create a beautiful picture to be the backdrop of her story. Way to go!

If you'd like to enter the contest, here's what to do:

1.  Create a layout with a spring scene (unless you live in the southern hemisphere, then a fall scene is perfectly acceptable!)

2. Upload a scan or photograph of your layout to the Club CK gallery. (Learn how to upload to the gallery here.)

3. Leave a comment below with the URL link to your layout posted in the Club CK gallery; for example, your comment could look like this: "My layout is posted here: http://clubcreatingkeepsakes.com/media/p/31086.aspx." Note: Previously uploaded layouts are not eligible; layouts must be posted on or after March 21, 2011 to be eligible.

Your comment must be left before 9:00 a.m. MDT on Monday, March 28, 2011 to be considered for the contest. One winner will be randomly selected from all entries and will receive some random Basic Grey goodies. The announcement will be made at the bottom of this article.

Happy scrapbooking!

Congrats to Kelly  who was the randomly selected winner.  To claim your prize, look for a conversation from Erika H in the My Conversations section of your My Profile page.

This challenge was a lot of fun! I love using springy colors and I love that spring is beginning to show up! clubcreatingkeepsakes.com/.../549896.aspx

I love spring too...although March in Minnesota is always a nightmare...just yesterday we had snow, today almost 50 degrees, now they're predicting a decent storm for the next two days...ugh! So I continue to take snow pictures and look forward to next month, when spring *usually* shows up...look forward to scrapping it!!

And I agree with Erin above, in Minnesota we don't have spring yet :(

These are last years photos that I scrapped.

It didn't quite turn out how I envisioned it, but here is my layout.  I took these photos this week, and I couldn't help comparing the tracks here to the ones outside my house growing up...

So I had to make another one becasue I wasn't in love with my first one.  This one is much better, probably because I used fewer photos so you can actually see and identify the scene!  (Plus, it's much springier)

Here's to Spring: clubcreatingkeepsakes.com/.../556934.aspx

Spring is supposed to bring warmer weather (so far we've only had a few days of it).  When it warms up - we go to the lake.

I had so much fun creating this lo!  I have never created a lo like this before & had fun trying something new.  As always Club CK, thanks for getting me out of my "comfort zone" and trying so many new things with my layouts!

Here's mine... Although the pictures aren't spring related, the colors were bright and happy so, I thought they'd be perfect.
