Creating your own decorative buttons is simple with this idea from Kelly Purkey. Use decorative scissors and your scraps of patterned paper or cardstock to design these easy-to-duplicate handmade buttons just like these adorable paper buttons-and create fun embellishments for your layouts snipp-ity quick!

Dinner at a Diner by Kelly Purkey as seen in the January 2011 issue of Creating Keepsakes magazine.

Here's How to Make Your Decorative-Edge Buttons:

1. Stamp cardstock.

2. Cut square using decorative scissors.

3. Punch holes, and thread.

Here is my LO for the creative uses for decorative scissors + contest.  I made a "bat" button as this was the theme of the craft my grandson made for his Halloween party.

Here's mine. I used wood grained paper for the buttons, to match the cabinet.

My take of this one- I know, I didn't use scissors, but  home die cuts, but still- lots of homemade buttons on this page
