Help capture the details of your life with photos of the
not-so-obvious details of a story. These shots are often close-up shots that
call attention to a special item of importance, but they can also be standard
(non-zoom) shots of items that are important to capture simply because most
people don't think to photograph them. Learn three fun ways to capture the
details of your stories.
--
1. Showcase a
Personality.
Does your daughter always wear the same shoes or your son
the same hat, regardless of the day or the rest of the outfit? Snap a close-up
photo, because otherwise the trend may go unobserved in typical photos where
your child's face is the central focus of the shot.

2. Look for the Rarely
Photographed Items
Many items of our everyday life go un-photographed because
they seem so typical. But these photos can serve as great memories that help us
tell a complete story on our scrapbook pages. Consider the importance of
photographing these items and others like them:
* Neatly placed table settings at dinnertime
* A line of parked cars on the street for a weekend party
* The mix of condiments on the table that are your family's
must-haves for a barbecue
* Steps filled with shoes removed before entering a church
(see the photo below)

3. Add an Element
That Makes Your Story Unique
The setting of your photo can reveal not just a detail of a
story but also a detail about your personality or your family life. For
instance, rather than just photographing necklaces received at a parade
positioned at home on your kitchen counter, snap the picture while you're
washing them to show that you're mindful of keeping toys sanitized for your
children. You'll capture the detail of the object but also add a detail about
your family that you may not have recorded in your scrapbook.
