Each week, hundreds of beautiful scrapbook pages and
projects are uploaded to the Club
CK gallery. Here are some highlights from the layouts and cards posted this
week, with details on the finishing touches that the CK
team feels makes these pages shine.

"Play & Grow" by Nicole

Nicole's frames around the smaller photos mimic the look of
flash cards--a perfect look for layouts about young children and growth!
--
"At the Patch" by justem

The pen-drawn outlines around each element on this scrapbook
page give it an incredibly polished look. The black pen also helps the people
in the black jackets jump out on the page; it's a nice touch to draw the eye to
the fun pictures.

"Overheard" by Kellie

"This layout is so fun," says CK managing editor Lori
Anderson. "The muted colors and the black-and-white photos feel light and airy,
and the cloud paper supports that feeling. It's such a cute digital page, but
it can be quickly duplicated with traditional elements. So adorable!"
--
"First Born Child" by TanishaRenee

Tanisha nicely transforms gems and flowers into dazzling
butterfly accents. Then pen-drawn flight paths help ground the butterflies and
add whimsy to the layout.

"Happy Day card" by okanogangirl

The font and paper pattern on this card may normally create
a masculine feel, but Okanogangirl's use of bright colors and buttons adds a
bright, cheerful feel making this card a joy for any recipient!
--
"Hanging Out at the Zoo" by Kathy

On this layout created as part of Club CK's one-hour
challenge this week, Kathy added the monkey sticker between a cardstock
circle and a mesh circle to present the accent just as if the monkey were in a
cage at the zoo. Brilliant!
--
"Garden Girl" by carkareokequeen

Check out the border strips layered over the red strip near
the bottom of the page. Carkareoke's decision to layer the two pink decorative
strips helps the layout feel extremely well thought out and detailed.
--
"New Craze" by Jody Wenke

You couldn't ask for a better patterned paper to use on this
layout than the one Jody chose to support her photo. It's a perfect match that
strengthens the page theme.
--
"Beautiful" by Joey_M

Mixing patterned papers can be tricky to find the right
combination, but Joey exhibits a great match on this layout. Each pattern has a
curved element, which is nicely carried through in her title, journaling spot,
rounded photo corners, and the curves of her monogram "m."
--
"Eggs 2010" by Buffy fan

Buffy Fan's stitched spirals near the flower accents
reinforce the feel of the scalloped circle and border strips, helping the
layout appear wonderfully unified.
--
"Full of Life" by Davita

Comments CK senior editor Kim Jackson: "Davita's page has
such a playful, artistic style! All the little details-including the scribbles
in the background-convey the carefree, mischievous nature of the layout's
subject. Plus, you rarely see that funky collage style on a boy layout-what a
fab example of how to translate your style to a page!"
--
"Just Chillin" by Amy

I love how Amy painted the blue border on this page so the
edges are uneven. The look brings a sun-washed feel that is fantastic for a
beach layout!
--
"Otherwise Known As" by melanie

Melanie's scrapbook page is a wonderful reminder to record
nicknames in your albums. Melanie adds great balance to the page by presenting
the nicknames in a pyramid, with the names increasing in length. The heart at
the top of the word pyramid is the perfect finishing touch to give the list of
names great visual appeal with a soft effect that matches the rest of her page
elements.

"Prepared for the Journey" by JanaMorton

The spritzed ink around the main photo mat helps draw the
eye to the main photos, which show the "preparation for the journey" that the
layout is all about. If your main photo doesn't have eye contact to draw in
viewers, consider a similar spritzed look on your layouts to help your most
important photo stand out.
--
"Our Favorite Pastime" by Erika

"This
layout is so patriotic," says CK art director Erin Bayless. "The colors and
creative techniques used in the layered stars are a great tribute to this all-American
sport. Erika's use of a ticket as a journaling spot is really fun, too!"
--
"Burger Meister" by ria_mojica

Ria's black circles on this layout wonderfully support the
look of a barbecue grill. The layered-button accents nicely resemble screws as
well, supporting a masculine look.
--
"Beach" by TooMuchStuff

Check out the delightful sun accent TooMuchStuff made from
paper. And would you believe it, she created this entire layout in less
than one hour and for under five dollars.
--
"A Vision of Spring" by Lucinda

Comments CK associate editor Dorathy Gilchrist: "Lucinda's
photo in this layout is a beautiful choice. The positioning of the shot adds
humor as well--it makes you wonder what the cat is thinking about that pretty red bird and the coming of
spring!" Lucinda's choice to mat the photo with red cardstock helps the red
bird stand out in a photo where it could otherwise have disappeared amidst the
snow.

We can't wait to see your layouts, too. Upload
them to the Club
CK gallery today!
